Why Young People are NOT the Future

Updated: Mar 18

I really believe that our tendency is to find what we're looking for. What do I mean? I mean the more we look for things to complain about, be upset about, be angry about, or to be stressed about...they easier they are to find. Especially if you spend an abundance of time scrolling through social media or watching the news. Depending on your lived experience and worldview, it can become very easy to lose hope.

Over the years as I've traveled throughout the United States and the world, one of the things that has consistently restored my hope in the future, my hope in humanity, and my hope for our world, is our young people.

I meet sooooo many people that are making a way out of seemingly no way, finding strength in their broken places, and learning how to live above their circumstances. Young people give me hope.

Are things in our world perfect? Far from it. Do we have a lot of work to do? Absolutely. I am just thankful for the thousands upon thousands of young people I get to talk to and more importantly, listen to every year, that inspire me and my team to continue to do the important work that we do.

Here is a very short clip from a radio interview I did in Port St. Johns, South Africa last week where I got to share why I have so much hope in this generation.

Please take a second to watch it and if you like it, share it.

Young people are not the future...they're the right now!
